Local Bookshops

24-26 High St, Birmingham B4 7SL, UK – 0121 633 4353

It was lovely airy and clean. Good selection of reading material. Lack of staff upstairs was a let down. The gentleman who served us was polite and helpful x

Really great bookstore. Excellent range of books and graphic novels. Very impressed with the knowledge of staff and their willingness to help you find books that might interest you. I was looking for a certain theme and I came away with 2 new books I am looking forward to reading. This is on top of the graphic novel I intended to purchase if they has it, which they did. We will be back, often.

Ikon Bookshop

1 Oozells St, Birmingham B1 2HS, UK – 0121 248 0711

Ikon is very selective about their book offerings - everything in here is worth buying. I'm sure I'd purchase more if the prices were a little lower, but the products are of good quality and not extremely overpriced.

In its fiftieth year - in different locations across the city - Ikon is a welcome survivor in the cultural landscape of Birmingham. Exhibitions are always interesting, thought-provoking, and enjoyable. The staff, both in the gallery, the cafe, and the shop are always friendly, polite, engaging. Ikon is a real cultural gem and it's great that everything they have to offer is free ... such an asset for the city. If you're visiting Birmingham, visit Ikon.

2A, Grand Central, Birmingham B2 4BF, UK – 020 3206 2690

Friendly bookshop with a carefully curated collection. However the pop intellectualism it promotes may not appeal to serious book people or academics. Also the location could be improved. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

A great little bookshop with surprisingly good prices. The staff always appear to be happy and welcoming. And it's great distraction to get away from the various yet lovely restaurants in and around and outside the shop. I adore bookshops and this is great. Well recommended for a quick look around.
